🍡 Spiced Chai Recipe (Kenyan-Style Masala Chai)



Ingredients (Serves 2):

  • 2 cups whole milk (or half milk, half water)

  • 1–2 teaspoons black tea leaves (or 2 tea bags)

  • 1–2 tablespoons sugar (adjust to taste)

  • Spices:

    • 1 cinnamon stick (or ½ tsp ground cinnamon)

    • 2–3 cardamom pods (crushed)

    • 2–3 cloves

    • ½ inch fresh ginger (grated or sliced)

    • Optional: pinch of black pepper or star anise


Instructions:

  1. Heat the Milk & Spices:
    In a saucepan, add milk, spices, and sugar. Simmer gently over medium heat for 3–5 minutes to infuse the flavors.

  2. Add the Tea:
    Add black tea leaves or tea bags and let it simmer for another 2–3 minutes. Stir occasionally.

  3. Strain and Serve:
    Strain into mugs using a fine mesh sieve. Serve hot and enjoy the warmth!
